Precarious Work & Social Policy Research Lab
The Precarious Work & Social Policy Research Lab at Chung-Ang University in South Korea, examines fundamental transformations in work, class structures, and social protection systems, with a particular focus on South Korea and Asia in comparative perspective. We investigate how changing forms of employment reshaping class relations, deepening inequalities, and challenging social policy institutions across the region.
Our research centers on precarious work, class, inequality, and social policy analysis. We explore the institutional dynamics that produce and reproduce labor market segmentation, examining how welfare states respond to—or fail to address—growing precarity.
